Safe Beds For Pets - Vet Care

Vet care for *Snowy

Snowy, a beautiful and resilient dog, arrived at Pet Refuge in urgent need of medical care after enduring severe mistreatment. She required daily medication, twice-weekly baths, and eventually, surgery to repair her hind leg.

Every pet that enters our care receives a thorough health check from our dedicated veterinary team. Sadly, 90% require medical treatment beyond their initial assessment. We see our vet frequently to administer vaccines, provide ongoing care, and ensure every pet is healthy and ready for their next chapter. On average, we’ll see our vet 17 times a month either onsite or offsite for treatment.

For Snowy, this meant extensive skin treatments for flea and tick damage, as well as surgery to help her walk pain-free again. Our team stayed by her side throughout her recovery, offering comfort and reassurance.

Snowy the dog

“I'm so thankful for everything you’ve done for Snowy. Knowing she was safe and receiving the care she needed took a huge weight off my shoulders. I can’t wait to have her back in my arms.”

– Snowy’s Mum

Thanks to the kindness of our supporters, Snowy now knows what it means to be safe, loved, and free from harm.

  • Thanks to our amazing supporters, we’ve been able to set-up a desexing fund to cover desexing costs for a year.
